Rebecca Shah

SEO Strategic Rewrite

What’s Going On:

“John helped me understand how clients experience my website. I offer a complex, high-level service and he helped me see my business from their perspective so I could get clear on how to communicate with them. He has deep expertise and knowledge and is a great communicator.

And it was fun working with him. It was a mix of structured and “go with the flow” that was exactly what I needed. We started small, but everything was going so smoothly, we ended up redoing the whole website.

Now the website looks great! It’s getting traffic; I’m getting unsolicited leads just from the website itself. And it’s super helpful to have a place to send prospective clients that really shows who I am, what I do and how I can be of service. ”

Rebecca Shah — Executive Consultant

Rebecca has a brand new website for her new consulting business that looks great.

But, it wasn’t showing up in a Google search. She had been too successful in her previous role and so when anyone searched her name, her old agency who were now competitors came up first and her new site didn’t show up until the third page.

How We Fixed It:

I started by doing all the standard SEO optimizations just to get her to the starting line. We created a new Google Business profile for her and submitted her site map to all the relevant search engines.

Once that was complete, we took a look at the site itself. The way it was written, it wasn’t obvious what Rebecca does for her clients, or who her target audience is.

That sounds like a big problem, and it is, but it is also extremely common for high-level service providers who work with complex problems. We dove deep into brand strategy work with Rebecca to come up with a tag line that resonated for her, a subtitle that accurately and succinctly described what she did, and natural and compelling calls to action.

Six months later, her site is now the #1 search result for her keyword.

That’s what I do.
